Ground Water Resource Management Project

Waterlab Solutions Pvt Ltd is excited to be a part of this innovative project of Community based ground water resource management by Humana for People to People India in Haryana. The project will be make use of the the Bhujal App in villages in Pataudi and Farrukh Nagar in Gurugram blocks of Haryana for ground water monitoring.

The project targets 200 farmers to learn ground water availability through the Bhujal App and plan through participatory processes the future water use for agriculture, promote data sharing and agreeing actions for sustainable ground water resource management including behaviour change related to the extractions and conservation of ground water. In addition, appropriate water harvesting measures planned under the project will contribute to the sustainability prospects of the existing ground water sources.

The Project activities kicked off with the training program organised on 18 May 2023 to sensitise farmers on ground water scenario, relevance of data driven ground water management to be facilitated by the use of the Bhujal App and the roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders involved in the project. Thanks to the team of Humana for leading, organising and facilitating the event and the engagement with the target farmers.

​The farmers and the Human field team were trained on the use of the App through classroom and field demonstrations. Active participation and positive engagement of farmers demonstrated supportive and positive environment to the new approach of ground water management in the first of its pilots in India on data driven ground water management. Looking forward to this exciting multi partnered collaborative project to gain new insights and lessons in ground water management.
